Gauge runs one Model Context Protocol server for both products. Connect an AI client such as Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or Codex, and it can work with your Gauge data directly. The server URL is the same for every client. It supports Streamable HTTP and SSE.

Authenticate

Connect with OAuth

1

Open the MCP integration

In Gauge, go to Settings → Integrations → MCP and select your client.
2

Add Gauge to your client

Follow the client-specific instructions and copy the install command or connector URL. For other MCP-compatible clients, use the server URL above.
3

Authorize access

Your client opens Gauge in the browser. Select the organization you want to connect and approve access.

Connect with an API key

Create an organization API key in Gauge Chat under Settings → Integrations → API Keys, then configure your client with the server URL and this header:
For example, in Claude Code:
A Read only key exposes only the tools that read data, and the server refuses write calls. Use a Read & write key for tools that create content, change prompts, or launch runs. Revoke the key to disconnect every client using it. See Authenticate with the API for access levels and revoking.

What to ask

Once connected, ask your client in plain language. For example:
  • “How did our visibility in ChatGPT change over the last 30 days, and which competitors gained?”
  • “Add these five prompts to the Pricing topic.”
  • “Why did the latest run of the onboarding eval fail? Show the evidence.”
  • “Compare the last two batches of the SDK install eval.”
Available Gauge Chat tools depend on your organization’s connected integrations, such as Google Search Console, PostHog, or a CMS. Launching a saved eval or preference prompt starts agent sessions, which use Gauge Agents credits.
