# Gauge Chat quickstart

> Add your brand, see what AI says about it, and find your first opportunity.

Gauge Chat shows whether AI recommends your brand, which sources it uses, and what you can improve.

## 1. Add your brand

Sign in at [app.withgauge.com](https://app.withgauge.com) and follow setup. Enter your company name and website, then review the suggested competitors and questions.

You can start tracking without connecting Google Analytics or a CMS.

## 2. Review your prompts

A **prompt** is a question Gauge asks AI on your behalf—for example, “Which help desk tools work well for an online store?”

Open **Prompts** and check that the questions reflect what your customers would ask.

Gauge starts collecting answers as you add prompts. [Learn more about managing prompts](/navigating/prompts).

## 3. Read your first answers

Open a prompt and read an answer. Does it mention your brand? Which pages does it cite?

Then open **Dashboard** to see your overall visibility. Check several answers and days before drawing conclusions—AI responses vary.

## Connect the data you need

Go to **Settings → Integrations** when you're ready to add:
