# YouTube

> See which YouTube videos and channels are driving AI citations in your industry, and identify where your brand needs to show up.

## YouTube

The YouTube section gives you a view of which videos and channels are contributing to AI visibility within your industry. Rather than tracking YouTube for audience growth alone, Gauge uses it to show you exactly which videos and creators are being cited in AI-generated answers for the prompts you're tracking.

Filter the whole view by topic, time range, model, and tags using the controls at the top of the screen.

## What You'll See

### Videos

The Videos tab is the default view. It ranks the specific YouTube videos driving citations across your tracked prompts. For each video you can see:

* **Citation Rate (Average)** — how often the video is cited across your tracked prompts over the selected period
* **Citation Rate (Current)** — its citation rate at the end of that period
* **Change** — whether that citation rate is trending up or down
* **Channel** — the creator that published the video
* **Views** — the video's total view count on YouTube

Search by video title or channel name to find a specific video, and click any row to open it on YouTube.

### Channels

The Channels tab rolls the same data up to the creator level, ranking the channels generating the most citations in your space. Alongside **Citation Rate (Average)**, **Citation Rate (Current)**, and **Change**, each channel shows its **Subscribers**, the number of distinct **Videos** cited, and total **Views**.

Click a channel to filter the Videos tab down to just that channel's cited videos.

### Coverage Gaps

Use the tracking type control to switch between all citations and those tied to your brand's visibility. Videos and channels that are cited heavily but don't mention your brand are the gaps to close — the places AI answers are pulling from where you're absent and a competitor may be present.

## The Charts

Two graphs appear at the top of the YouTube view:

* **Citation Rate for youtube.com** — the percentage of AI answers that cite any YouTube video. This shows how much YouTube overall is influencing AI answers in your space.
* **YouTube Visibility for your brand** — of the YouTube citations being pulled into AI answers, the percentage that actually mention your brand. This is the number to grow.

<Note>
Gauge's scraping of YouTube is inconsistent, so brand visibility figures on this page can read lower than reality. Treat them as directional rather than exact.

## Why It Matters

Video is an increasingly cited source in AI-generated answers, and a single popular explainer can shape what models say about your category for months. Knowing which videos and channels drive those citations tells you exactly where your brand needs to show up — through your own content, partnerships, or creator outreach.
