# Publish and measure content

> Take an idea or existing page through editing, publishing, and measurement.

## 1. Choose what to improve

Pick a recommendation in [Action Center](/navigating/action-center) or a page in [Library](/navigating/library). Note what you want to change and which prompts or citations led you there.

## 2. Write and review

Start the action, choose **Start Fresh** in Library, or select **Open** on an existing page.

Tell Ask Gauge what you want. For a new article, review the brief and outline before drafting. Check the finished article’s facts, links, and tone. [Memory](/navigating/memory) helps Gauge follow your company’s style.

Creating a new piece uses your [content allowance](/help/billing), even before the article is finished.

## 3. Publish

Connect your CMS in **Settings → Integrations**. Choose the destination, check the title and other required fields, then select a supported publishing option.

* **Hosted CMS:** Review a draft or preview where available before publishing live.
* **GitHub:** Review and merge the pull request, then deploy through your usual process.
* **Other platforms:** Use **Copy as Markdown** and publish the article yourself.

See [CMS integrations](/help/cms-integrations) for each destination’s options. Sanity writes to Content Lake; your site’s setup controls when that content appears.

Open the live page to check the result. A draft or calendar date does not mean the article is published. If the work came from Action Center, mark it **Completed** when finished.

## 4. Check what changed

Compare the same prompts and engines over time. Look at citations, mention rate, and visibility, then read the answers behind the numbers.

Gauge evaluates eligible completed content actions after at least 14 days. See [Action Center](/navigating/action-center#3-check-the-result) for timing.

## If something goes wrong

| Problem | What to check |
| ------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Content won’t import | Check the selected site, collection, access, and field mapping. Sanity needs existing published documents to infer fields. |
| Publishing fails | Read the error and check the connection. Look for an existing draft or PR before trying again. |
| Content is saved but not live | Check the publication state and your site’s deployment process. |
| Library has no traffic metrics | Check your Google connection and server logs. |
